In the pantheon of “easy recipes” this one is way, way up there, meaning it’s a fantastic go-to for lunch or a quick dinner. It relies on super basic and speedy cooking methods combined with pantry products that bring big, punchy flavor - the noodles are fast to cook, and the hot oil makes the individual ingredients sing in a flavorful chorus.
ACTIVE: 20 minutes
SERVES: 2
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: wok or skillet, small sauce pot
Ingredients
- 1 package Phil’s Finest Korean-Style BBQ Beet Ground Beef
- 1 package dry noodles (we love Momofuku's packaged noodles)
- 1 bunch scallions, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 heaping tablespoon chili crunch (our favorites are Fly By Jing, Bowlcut, and Momofuku)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp black vinegar (or balsamic, in a pinch!)
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil
Method
- Set water to boil for your noodles.
- While your water is boiling, cook your Phil's Finest Korean BBQ beef into crispy crumbles and set aside in a small bowl.
- Cook your noodles according to package instructions.
- Drain your cooked noodles under cold water until they’re completely cooled off - dump them in the bowl that you intend to eat in (make sure it’s heatproof).
- Right on top, add your light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, vinegar, minced garlic (raw), chili crunch, and cooked Phil’s Finest Korean BBQ ground beef.
- While you’re adding those ingredients to your bowl, heat up about 2 T of neutral oil until it shimmers - pour it directly on top of your bowl of noodles, stir it up with your chopsticks, and enjoy!
